Professional Career in Event Planning

COPE
Professional Title: Organizer

Beware of Express Certifications

The biggest problem facing those who want to dedicate themselves to event planning is Express Certifications.

Our discipline is one of the most demanding because even people's lives are in our hands during event planning, and we can't pretend that we'll be able to master it in a couple of days, weeks, or months. If you buy into that idea, you're playing dumb.

If you want to be a professional organizer, start by behaving like one. Take your training seriously. It will take years to master the discipline. You'll want to have the best organizers in the world as your teachers.

The market is infested with Fake Certifications or Express Certifications that, for less than $1,000, promise to give you a recognition that's useless. When you face a critical situation, you'll need knowledge and security, not a piece of paper hanging on the wall.

Keep in mind that in your hands will rest unrepeatable moments that are part of the emotional memory of a person's life. Thus, how you manage to execute them will be how that person, couple, family, company or culture will remember their celebration. And if that weren't enough, in your hands will also rest the responsibility for the safety of everyone who participates in the event, that is, people's lives.

The World Organizing Institute isn't interested in Express Organizers, or delicate organizers, or those who require knowledge in bite-sized chunks. We're not interested in people who need to be told what to do because it goes against the nature of an organizer. We, the organizers, are the ones who tell you what to do, and therefore, developing this skill is part of your training.

Sometimes there will be videos, sometimes there will be illustrations, sometimes there will just be lectures you can record, but you are responsible for creating your own diagrams and putting them into practice.

Very few students can say they were trained by the founder of the discipline, Org. Antonio De Rosenzweig, who has dedicated 20 years of his life to the development of organization as a science, has traveled to the United Nations and international organizations, has faced complex disaster scenarios, and has organized thousands of events, and he will have no students willing to do anything less.

Currently, the community is made up of fewer than 100 organizers certified over 20 years. That's how demanding we are. However, those who achieve certification operate events around the world and earn millions of dollars.

Think carefully if it is for you:

  • At the World Organization Institute, there are no routine assignments or exams. Each student is responsible for setting their own requirements regarding research activities, assignments, and projects. The World Organization Institute will always be open to guiding students' curiosity, but it is the students who must nurture it with questions.

  • The content isn't always illustrated, video-based, or animated. Students must have the highest level of knowledge so they can construct their own diagrams from the readings.

  • Although we meet only 5 to 10 hours a week, the workloads are considerable because the program is built around the practical application of knowledge.

  • Attendance, punctuality, and interest are essential attributes of an organizer's profile. After three unjustified absences, the student is permanently disenrolled. Disenrolled students may not return to the Institute's professional programs.

  • Each student's academic level is routinely assessed based on their performance. Only when there are concerns about specific areas will Professor Antonio De Rosenzweig administer assessments to demonstrate each student's progress.

  • Finally, the World Organization Institute is governed by very strict codes of conduct. Lies, dishonesty, disrespect, and corrupt practices during the professional practice of the discipline, even after graduation, are factors that lead to student disenfranchisement and ignorance. On the other hand, individuals who help forge a new world order by using their curiosity, building their continuity on the continuity of others, are highly valued and recognized.

INFORMATION:

  • 8 Semesters (4 years).

  • 5 hours per week (group), 1 hour per week one-on-one or with several students interested in solving common issues.

  • The method is 65% online and 35% in-person (practical application of knowledge projects).

  • The program is taught entirely by Professor Antonio J. De Rosenzweig. Occasionally, more advanced students may teach, but the principal lecturer throughout your training will be Professor Antonio De Rosenzweig.

  • Certificate: Organizer (organization is a pure natural science, not a degree). The Certificate is recognized worldwide to continue your postgraduate studies at the world's leading universities. However, it is important to clarify that the World Institute of Organization is the first organization dedicated to the development of organization understood as a natural science and is therefore the most advanced. There is no other institution authorized to grant recognition in our favor. It is the work of the Institute that opens these spaces for recognition and gives value to our certificates, such as the one we have before international organizations such as the UN or OECD for having established the definition of disaster and designed the Universal Disaster Magnitude Scale. It is your work, and that of everyone else, that supports our recognition. In our discipline, a certificate hanging on the wall is of no use to you when faced with a natural phenomenon.

  • PEOPLE WHO STUDY FOR RECOGNITION RATHER THAN KNOWLEDGE CANNOT BE STUDENTS AT IMO.

  • Costs:

    • Initial registration: 2,500 USD

    • Semi-annual registration 1,000 USD
