Certification Program
Civil Organization for Disaster Scenarios

Civilian Population Understood As The Main Source Of Solutions

There is no more powerful force on earth than an organized civilian population.

This program lays the groundwork for us to organize our communities in disaster scenarios.

This program is designed for those who want and can play a role in organizing their community.

AIM:

To give you the basic knowledge to organize your community in the event of a disaster, whether you're within the area of influence of a phenomenon or want to help an affected region.

It also establishes the starting points for knowing how and who to ask for help.

CONTEXT

  • During Hurricane Katrina, the worst disaster in U.S. history, the population, which holds the greatest power to react, suffered unnecessarily simply because they failed to organize themselves.

  • But Katrina is just one example of what's happening around the world, because the population of very few countries knows how to organize, becoming victims when they could be sources of solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE.

  • Activate the international alert system to receive help.

  • Sectorize a disaster area to make the organization manageable.

  • Gather your community and assign clear positions so they know what to do.

  • Manage communication within your area of influence.

  • Integrate civil participation in an orderly manner.

  • Coordinate the community during the design and implementation of solutions.

  • Become a fundamental arm of your country's government.
